Acceptable, but with some drawbacks
dated room insufficient radiator
The staff were friendly and helpful to me.
My room felt quite dated and in need of an upgrade. The shower facilities looked like they were installed decades ago and were crammed into a very small space, it wasn't ideal. The room felt cold and the radiator provided was not sufficient.

Charming Stay with Music and Views
lovely music helpful staff rear parking
I had a room located just above the bar, so I enjoyed a Seaview plus reliable WIFI. The staff were genuinely helpful and looked up information. Live music in the bar sounded lovely when I passed through on my way into town for dinner. The restaurants were only ten minutes away. There was an additional car park at the rear for motorbikes.
My room ended up smaller than I anticipated and it was located next to the main stairs. This resulted in noticeable noise, and the view faced someone's back garden. I felt the need to keep the curtains closed.

The hotel provides beautiful views across the harbor and islands! The esplanade is right outside the front door. St Columba's Cathedral is next door. The town's restaurants are a short ten-minute walk away.

really good breakfast helpful staff tea coffee hotel modernization room noise wifi absence
the breakfast each morning was fantastic , the tables always looked professionally set. the staff were helpful , always happy to provide assistance. the room had everything needed for tea and coffee , a great bonus.
the hotel really needs modernizing. i could hear a lot of noise from other rooms , which was disruptive. the wifi wasn't available in the room , only in reception.

small room non-functional lights
The room felt quite small, it was a single room after all. the wired-in bedside lights did not work. This made reading difficult as sufficient light was absent. the hotel needs refurbishment, it felt tired and dated. wifi was unavailable in the bedrooms, a considerable downside, poor lighting
